Thank you to everyone who made it out to show their support for Shining Daughters at last night's event.  Your generous contributions helped our organization raise over $1800 in only four short hours.

Shining Daughters is anxiously anticipating its first fundraiser tonight.  So far, it's looking like attendance will be plentiful!  The donations have already begun pouring in online and we're featured in two local sites.

Shining Daughters is pleased to announce its 501(c)(3) tax exempt status! 

This means many wonderful things for the organization, including large scale fundraising and grantwriting.

Shining Daughters is quickly paving its way to becoming everything it's built to be for every girl it is built to serve. 

We look forward to building more and more!  Congrats to the founders!

1st Board Meeting

Shining Daughters successfully completed their first board meeting.  Our board is most certainly comprised of knowledgeable and resourceful individuals.  The ideas bounced off of one another will surely make for a well-organized nonprofit!  Thank you to Dante Tolbert, Ray Leon, Nancy Ellinger, Michael Orange, Brenden Anderson and Laura Zapiain. 

First Board Meeting

Shining Daughters will hold its first Board Meeting & Meet 'N Greet on Monday, February 1st at 7 PM @ The Uptown Apartments (Kitchen) - 500 William Street - Oakland, CA 94612.  We are looking forward to a great event with a group of great individuals!

Help us choose our logo!  So many great ideas and color combos...  We will post our final logo soon!

Winter Break = Planning Time!

Co-Founders of Shining Daughters just completed their 3rd of 4 semesters toward the pursuit of their MSW degrees!  Time is winding down and we have lots in the works.  We will be using the Winter Break to design and outline curriculum and plan for the upcoming workshop and fundraisers.  The City of Oakland and its local business owners have been more than helpful and generous in their offerings of support toward helping Shining Daughters raise funds.  Thank you in advance to Mimosa owner, Chris Rachal, City of Oakland Policy Analyst, Ray Leon, and Pican Manager, Miriam Allen.  We, along with our Event Coordinator, Tatiana Larkin of AllAboutTheBiz.org, look forward to working with you all!
